Writing assignment 12/17

1. What was your vision as a director/creator for this project?

Originally I thought that Mr.Mallard coming back at the end and Mrs. Mallard actually dying was a little bit corny so I chose to make Mr. Mallard stay dead from the beginning and go in a different direction.

2. What elements of the original story did you maintain in your project?

Some parts of the story that I kept the same are the characters, the fact that there is a twist at the end and the way Mrs. Mallard got the news about her husband in her house.

3. What did you change about the original story in your project?

Some things that I changed were the year, the state that it took place in, the occupations of the characters, the type of accident Mr. Mallard got into and the twist at the end where Mrs. Mallard meets the mystery woman.

4. What is the twist or climax of your adaptation?

The twist of my adaptation is where at the funeral that Mrs. Mallard is having for her husband a woman that claims to also be married to Mr.Mallard is there.

5. What is the strongest part of your project so far?

I think the strongest part of my project so far is the plot because I thought about many different ways I could have took the story and this plot felt like it was the best one by far.

6. What is the weakest part of your project so far?

The weakest part of my project is the pictures because I had trouble finding what to take pictures of that matched up with my story.

7. How has this project helped you learn about how stories work?

This project taught me that there are not to many parts overall that go into a story. For example a story can be broken down into around 8 parts.

8. How has this project helped you learn how theater works?

This project helped me learn that theatre is a lot more interesting and entertaining when their is a twist that catches the audience off guard after they think they know where the story is going.
